Hi
I’m looking for a statistician to help me analyse data from a recent research study. The data collected from 48 participans relates to :
-time and accuracy scores in relation to the tower of Hanoi game,
-a whole number score for a visual imagery questionnaire (the VVIQ2)
-a likert-scale based questionnaire comprised of 14 questions.
The study looks at two groups (intervention vs control) playing the Tower of Hanoi game, a puzzle involving movement of disks from a starting conformation to a goal state. There are 48 participants in total who have fully completed the trial randomised to each group. The intervention group participants are named MP2S (1-25) and control MP2C (1-24). There is one more participant no. in the intervention group because participant MP2S2 was nullified due to experiment procedural faults.
The data collected is the time taken to complete each game and the number of excess moves used to complete each game (above the ideal 31 move solution) as well as an accuracy score computed by taking into account different types of error score. There are also two questionnaires completed by each participant as aforementioned.
I would like some assistance completing my data analysis of the study, specifically an ANOVA done on the TOH data showing that a. groups improved from trial 1 to trial 2 b. If there was any significant difference in performance between the two groups. I also would like a factor analysis done in relation to the likert-based questionnaire, and analysis of correlation between VVIQ2 results and performance. Having already performed some basic analysis (T tests , mean comparison, correlation) it appears that the data is not statistically significant, but I would just like this clarified for me graphically and with the required test results, p values etc. Ideally this should be done using spss . I would also like some advice if possible as to whether any outliers should be excluded and what method to use for exclusion, I've researched a few but haven't come up with a definite answer as to a method and whether to use time or errors for exclusion.
Let me know if you'd be interested, look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Aviv
