Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the website: WP User Forgot Password Feature
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: Hi,
I need to customise a plugin so users can retrieve passwords by answering a number of security questions and view a reset link ONLINE to reset password there and then. Have a look what you think.
The problem i have with this is the majority of 400 users do not have an email address, so cannot confirm or set up anything using email.
I have identified a plugin called wordpress-security-questions
http://codecanyon.net/item/wordpress-security-questions/5894819?WT.oss_phrase=security&WT.oss_rank=28&WT.z_author=flippercode&WT.ac=search_list
But need to customise as follows or find a similar solution.
First time users visits the site
1) User logins using a provided U & P.
2) As its the first visit user is required to Select three security questions and specify answers
3) User can then browse site as usual
Visits there after
User logs in as normal
If they have forgot their password they click forgot link and need to reset password
1) Click forgot
2) Presented with security question screen
3) Enter details, if correct
4) Shown a password reset link ON SCREEN (not emalled)
5) Reset password and login.
PROBLEM - and possible more functionality
THEY MAY WISH TO ALLOW USERS TO REGISTER DIRECTLY ON THE SITE
1) So they would go to a new link
2) Register and complete details (email confirmation won't work)
3) Get a message saying the account needs to be confirmed and cjhck back in 48 hours
4) When account is confirmed (no email sent)
5) They can login
Any recommendation of improving this process are welcome.
Job needs to be complete asap.
