Hi,
I have a local LAMP server with 1 wordpress website installation on it. I need a plugin developed that will backup the website including media and database to a thumb drive. I then need a startup script written that can be installed on another local LAMP server that will look for the backed up file on the thumb drive at boot ( the server will be set to prioritise boot from the thumb if there is one ), if a backedup site is found, the startup script will replace whatever site it currently has with the one on the thumb drive, the thumbdrive can then be removed - and server #2 will server the website that has been transferred.
So to clarify the user journey:
user uses the plugin to create a backup which prompts the user where to save. The user saves the backup to portable media ( usb drive ).
user plugs the media into another server which has the custom script set to run at boot. user turns on the server. The script which you have developed will run, see there is a backup plugged in and proceed to restore it . The user can then continue the boot, remove the usb and the website will be loaded as normal.
a search and replace will likely be needed for the database so the website being backed up ( website1.com) can be restored as website2.com
sort of like a firmware upgrade but for a website.
