Wordpress theme edit to display posts in random order

I am using a theme that has a cusotm post type called portfolio

The theme gives me options for ordering the portfolio posts on theindex page by date, but I would like them to appear in a random order each time

Also, I want the clickthrough removed from the portfolio items, so there will be no single post page to visit. All info will be on the portoflio index page

The theme currently shows portfolio thumbnail, title, and excerpt. I would like excerpt replaced with the full post content
