Description
Experience Level: Expert
Basically in summary, we want to amend our client page (www.mattstocker.com/clients) slightly so that we can show our client list and project description, with maybe a client testimonial without having to write complete case studies as we have to at present.
The website runs on a custom wordpress theme, with custom post types (there is a custom client page type) with a client template page.
We'd like there to be three layers in the page...
1) SHORT PROJECT DESCRIPTION, NO LINKS: Where we only have a short project description we can show the image and short description on www.mattstocker.com/clients, but not have to show any 'read more', title or image links.
2) SHORT PROJECT DESCRIPTION, POP-UP TESTIMONIAL LIGHTBOX: Where we only have a testimonial, we'd like the link text to read 'what they say' and when they click on that link (or image/title) they get a pop-up box with a greyed out background (for an example of what I'm looking for, see http://www.wbs.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/accounting-and-finance/ - click on the picture of the woman bottom right). This would be pulled from the 'quote' field on the actual client page
3) FULL CASE STUDY, AS IT IS AT PRESENT: Where we have content in the main box (so an actual case study), we'd like it to operate as it does now, linking through to the client case study page and showing the full story. The link would be "Read case study" or something along those lines.
Project descriptions all come from the excerpt field.
In terms of how this might work, a manual selection dropdown box (or something) that specified if the client page was to show as 1, 2 or 3 would be good.
Whilst it could be automatic depending on the fields filled in, it might be easiest from our perspective for it to be a manual process so we can say work on the case study content in the correct box without worrying that that will then turn the 'read case study' link on even though we're not ready.
For options 1 & 2 we wouldn't want people to be able access the whole page, or for it to be indexable.
I have a development site up and running already and full ftp access can be provided.
Please only quote if you are confident you can deliver.
Many thanks
Matt
