General information for the website: Small Wordpress website for freelancer
Description of requirements/features: This is quick and easy job but a bit fiddly.

I have worked on rebranding my clients Wordpress website. Because they are doing it on the cheap, rather than redoing a whole website from scratch, we are basically just editing the pages and changing the url name.

All the new pages are ready and set as drafts. The change of url is ready to go. This is the bit that I need help with as I have never done this before and don't want to risk loosing everything.
My understanding is that I need to save the files first and move them manually.

I have access to the host control panel and FTP access as well.

I would need someone who understands the process and who can either explain to me step by step what to do. ( in an email or over the phone ). Or someone who can do it for me if it's simpler that way.

I have all the logins necessary.

I would need this to be done this weekend but it's a quick job if you know what you're doing ( 10/15 mins )

    Hi

    Thanks for the invitation. You could just redirect the URL and adjust the settings in WP to display the required URL in a browser, easy if you are staying with the same host.
    Or more normally you would take a copy of the old site with a suitable plugin, then set up a new database at the new address and import the old site. Trouble is that takes a lot longer than 10 minutes.
    And then you may want to redirect the old pages to the most similar new ones to keep the existing SEO.
    If you get stuck please get in touch, but I'm not going to bid if you're only wanting to pay for 15 minutes work I'm afraid.

    Hi Adrian,

    It is indeed staying on the same host. The way I understand it is that before changing the domain name in WP, I need to manually move and copy the files. And this is what I need assistance with.
