Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I have a very old website that I developed myself over 10 years ago using Dreamweaver.
I would like to transfer the current site to Word Press (ideally using html5)
The site has grown organically over the years and is very chaotic.
Very briefly, the site consists of about 110 pages. The majority of these are two “slide shows", accounting for about 70 of the pages. There are about 20 Landing pages, which are all very similar but just tweaked for key words. There are about 5 form entry pages, with just two form formats. One of these is crucial as people book themselves online onto my Master Classes.
The home page has a flash sequence that I developed using Swish. There is some very old java script, which is supposed to sense the browser/availability of Flash, before running the sequence.
My ideal situation would be to have a three stage transfer
The first stage would be to set up a small test Word Press website with between 4 and 6 pages made from the current content. This first stage would allow me to get a clearer picture as to how the final website would be set out and managed. ( I already have multiple domain names and multi-domain web hosting.
The second stage would be to take over the rest of the content from the current operational site and make this the operational site.
Once I have a feel for Word Press, the final stage would be to upgrade the site to a different design and updated content.
This job is initially for stage 1. If all goes well, I will ask the web designer to complete the other two stages.
I have attached the specification of stage 1, together with the relevant html pages.
I would like a quote for stage 1. As this is basically only a test at this stage I would like to keep the cost to a minimum. For that reason, there are some possible variations in the spec. So if one part of the spec is causing disproportionate costs, then it can be modified to reduce the initial cost.
