Description
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Num. of web pages/modules: 1
Description of every page/module: I am trying to set up variation products on our current WooComerce site, using the in-house Import module.
However, I am having a great deal of trouble actually getting this done! I have tried asking WooCommerce themselves for help, but their examples didn't work. So I'm stuck!
That's where you come in...
Description of requirements/features: I will provide you with a login, and some basic product test data.
What I'd like is for you to turn these into Parent/ Child test products, that work when viewed on the front end.
We could also like copies of the successful CSV(s) and a screenshot of the of mapping of the fields, so that we will know how on earth to produce variation products by CSV in future.
This will probably be quite easy for some of you, but for us, it has been enormously frustrating!
Specific technologies required: Wordpress, WooCommerce CSV (we use Excel)
Extra notes: This is all about creating the products by CSV. Not by hand.
The tutorial video provided by WooCommerce tells us only how to create variations by hand, which is no good to us because our task would take us about 5 years to complete in this way!
I will give you our current WooCommerce website url (which we'll use for testing purposes) and your login details upon your acceptance of the task.

Hi Mick,
Could you elaborate on the number of products you have and how you wish to vary them? (Sample data would be useful).
Thanks,
Jon.Mick F.20 Oct 2017Hello Jon, and thanks for getting in touch.
All we really need is somebody to demonstrate how to import the parent and variation products - purely hypothetical products for now (we haven't even started building our new clothes website yet.)
This would be maybe two test parents, and two or 3 children just to show how it's done. We're stumped, basically, and WooCommerce's own support has just confused us even more!
Worse still, somebody just wrote to me on here, saying that the native WooCommerce importer cannot import variations!
Kind regards,
Mick
