Description
Experience Level: Entry
Hi All, I run the website www.thewanderingwaiter.com.
Restaurants can create a profile, add products to a menu and customers can use it to order food.
Here is an example of a restaurant’s menu: https://thewanderingwaiter.com/profile/leonie-gluck/
On the right you will see a menu with 5 products: Spaghetti Bolognese, Cheese Pizza, Italian Salad, Tomato Soup and Houmous.
On the left you will see a filter system that helps customers move around the menu easily. There are 2 parts to this filter:
1) The Menu section - If you click on “Salads” the screen will move so that the “Salads” section of the menu is in the middle of the screen. This is working correctly.
2) Tags – Here you can use the tags to filter out products. This section is not working correctly.
If you select “Pizza” in the tags section it will filter out all producst that do not have the category “Pizza’.
So the tags filter seems to be using the “Product Category” to work
But I would like it to use the “Product tags” instead. In the back end I have given each of the products different Product tags” this information is below:
Product: Cheese Pizza, Category: Pizza , Product tags: Nut Free
Product: Italian Salad, Category: Salad, Product tags: Vegetarian, Nut Free, Vegan
Product: Spaghetti Bolognese, Category: Mains , Product tags: Halal, Egg Free
Product: Tomato Soup, Category: Soup , Product tags: Vegetarian, Halal
Product: Houmous, Category: Starters , Product tags: Halal, Vegan
I want this tags section to use the “Product tags” and not the “Category”.
For example the product called “Tomato Soup” has the product tag “Vegetarian”. So in the Tags section an option called Vegetarian should appear and then when you select it the menu should filter out all products that do not have the product tag “Vegetarian. So only the products Italian Salad and Tomato Soup should appear if you select Vegetarian in the product tags. If you select the tag called “Vegan” then only Italian Salald and Houmous should be displayed on the menu.
You can only see these product tags in the back end so I will provide WP-admin access once the project is assigned..
So I think the solution will simply to be to change how the “Tags” filter works. Now it uses "Product Category" to filter the menu , but I want it to use "Product Tags" to filter the menu.
Please can somebody fix this for me
