Front page and slider on Wordpress site moved to Blog page

Easy-peasy 10-min job for anyone with basic programming and Wordpress experience. I want the front page of my wordpress site changed from the existing page to my blog page. I also want the slider (Riva easing slider) moved from the existing page to the blog page. The programmer should explain what coding changes were made to achieve the result, ideally teaching me rather than just doing the programming and showing me the result.
