Basic Shopify APP pulling last 10 orders (for tutorial purpose)

I am learning Shopify APP development. I have used the shopify cli to create a laravel app. If you are familar with shopify you will know the default app it builds pulls the last 10 products after authorizing it.

I am interested in the Orders API.

All I am looking for is a quickstart with an example of it pulling the last 10 orders from a shopify development store with test orders. I am struggling to get this working.

It doesnt need to query and display much information, just one or 2 lines even will do, like the ID and time created. Just add an extra navigation page or replace the Products one that displays when you load the default app up.

Ideally it will use PHP instead of Node or Ruby. Node will work but I dont want Ruby.
Either Rest OR graphql will work

I am familar with Shopify Partners, NGROK, CLI, ETC so I just really need to know how I would implment it into my app, If you can include some quick pointers on what you did it would be great or tell me how to install your version....I cannot find anything online about the orders API that is not outdated.
