Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We need full studies to improve health care services in our hospital via mobile (Mobile Health application).
Chronic disease patients in our hospital coming from far away area and some of them coming from remote area (villages), and some are disable can’t come if they have an appointment for follow-up. REMOTE POPULATIONS: far away from airport, distance from airports. * Lack of proper road surfaces, also no buses or trains. *Costs them to travel, most of them are poor.
So I would like the studies to check the possibility if we could Design and development of a mobile application to support chronic disease patients.
Possibility if they do a blood test (Glucose) by them-self then send from mobile app to hospitals. Example on the link below:
http://www.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~mfbari/files/conferences/2009/Shahriyar09.IMHMS.pdf
Could the mobile application do diagnose between patients and Drs / Nurses (Real-Time System), some female may not be examined by a male doctor.
An app a day keeps the doctor away: Patients told to use mobile phones for a check-up instead of visiting their GP, in the link below:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2104476/Apps-Dont-visit-GP-use-mobile-phone-check-instead-.html
Some ideas, video + article:
1- http://www.iadb.org/en/videos/watch%2c2173.html?videoID=4843
2 http://www.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~mfbari/files/conferences/2009/Shahriyar09.IMHMS.pdf
The studies should include:
Cost, system Architectures, requirements, and analysis
How this application going to help patients?
How we can deign it and implement it?
How should a M-Health system for chronic disease designed?
Can a mobile health solution benefit people in our hospital?
Investigate the current infrastructure for the medical monitoring and communication processes to do application like this.
Design a mobile application using mobile networks technologies for meeting the requirements of chronic disease patients living in far-flung areas
What technological advances such as voice-only applications are available, in order to help those with literacy and physical problems as well as those whose mobiles do not operate in their language script.
How do we deal with security, privacy and confidentiality issues?
Also important is the issue of flexibility. All operating system has to work with a range of devices.
Review all the applications are available on (Apple, Android and Black Berry)
Review the smaller current applications used at hospitals in the world.
Solutions to these problems –
how m-health can help
Lowers costs to when you use mobile.
Lowers costs to the patient.
Equality – serves the whole population.
Saves time for patients and Drs.
No waiting at health centres. In waiting room.
Improves communication between patients and Drs and between patients each other.
Education.
Medication reminders.
Appointments reminders.
