Hi,
We have two businesses located in M33, Manchester, UK. We have been here for almost four years and have a vibrant customer base, brilliant relationships and can be considered as part of the local community. At present they are both shut and I am having a rethink as 2018 was a tough trading year.
We have not opened for the new year and I have told one customer to date why. Essentially, as you drive by your local shop it's shut one day. You know the family there, your buy your milk, your bread, your pick n mix and one day it's shut.
2018 was a very tough year and we have to make very difficult decisions, but in the wise words of Sun Tzu - In the midst of chaos, there exists opportunity.
Throughout the time I decide what I am going to do with both businesses, I would like to drum up some activity online. My aim is to do the following:
a) publicize the closure and tell a story that people can identify with
b) tell the local public why we have shut and what our next steps are
c) get them talking about it within local social media groups across different platforms
d) plan an event onsite where we "say goodbye". we would invite people to the building and host them for a couple hours
e) canvas ideas from the public so as to better understand what the options are
f) capitalize on this closure in any way possible and building something for 2019
One business is a takeaway and the other is a convenience store that has been onsite for over 30 years.
Your role will be to
a) identify the local groups
b) engage with them regularly over a defined period of time
c) help me put together a video and picture collage to tell the story online
d) we have an instagram account and there is a chance to engage our followers some of which are local (@poundburger)
e) other tasks that support the success of this project
That's all i can think of for now. I will probably edit this job in the next 24 hrs as great freelancers ask good questions and make me think.
Please read my reviews and only contact if your serious.
Regards
David
