Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Whistle-blower modelling company looking for a good social media person/entity to help us on an incredible journey like no other you may not have experienced.
Background
The journey is more of a campaign or crusade if you like to rid the country of Model Scams but not just by using our vast knowledge [of the industry courtesy of industry insiders] to educate people and raise awareness - and we're talking thousands of people after all, around 65% of girls want to be models and around 40% of males aged between 5 and 29 - but go one better by offering them an alternative platform to showcase their modelling credentials and hey, if they don't succeed, at least they'll know they tried right.
Such an approach, we believe, ensures that these scores of vulnerable desperate people do not go and get lured in by the scores of people falsely promising them the prospect of becoming the next model sensation whilst helping them empty out their pockets and maxing out their credit cards. We're not just talking about the wannabe models here but more often than not, their uninformed loved ones such as parents who have to foot the bill. The rogue companies get the unsuspecting model hopefuls to spend hundreds and thousands of £££s on pictures or portfolios as they're commonly called not to mention pointless add ons [to bump up the price – such as websites, model cards, etc.] the companies fully well know the models don't need and will never help them become models.
By the time they realise they've been scammed or financially exploited, it's too late to do anything about it. For some, they simply curse their luck, become disillusioned with modelling and move on. However, for the scores of others, they don't give up and often go for a second and third helping. We're also targeting the thousands of new hopefuls yet to dive into the modelling shark infested waters (except they aren't aware of the presence of sharks). They go in innocently, believe all they're told [by the scammers] and get devoured as well. And the cycle goes on and on.
What we need a social media person for:
We're here to do something about it, which is why we need your help. But how?
Given our key demographic of 12-29 year olds, it goes without saying that social media will be critical to the ongoing success of this project.
Manage the social media aspect of our campaign
The company has two key areas [i.e. websites] – a sub model agency aspect called Your Model Management or YUMM for short, which will operate on the following premise. It will be for (a) any aspiring model searching for a legit agency but cannot find one (b) people that have given up or (c) one that are simply terrified of going into the open world of modelling for fear of being scammed.
We believe in giving everyone a chance to try their luck as a model on YUMM but not because we believe that everyone can be a model, but more because, if we don't, they're more than likely to go to one of the many rogue model companies or model sharks as we prefer to call them, get told what they want to hear and ruthlessly get scammed out of hundreds if not thousands of pounds. At least with YUMM, they can give modelling an honest go, in a safe and non-financially exploitative environment, and hey, if they don't get any work, at least they can say they gave it a decent go and most importantly, wouldn't have lost tons of money and be lied to doing so.
The other area/site will be called the Models Advice Bureau or MAB for short. This is the parent site and [like the Citizens Advice Bureau] will offer all things modelling related. These will include free advice on all things modelling, free eBooks on not just modelling but student coursework [yes, you’re probably thinking what’s modelling got to do with coursework? Well, we thought that, as many aspiring models are also students, why not offer them tips on how to get better grades as well whilst we have their attention]. The websites will also offer people an outlet to get quality affordable pictures [at a local photographer] instead of paying of exorbitant sums for shoddy pictures as they currently do, and lots more – not to mention having to travel long distances for the privilege.
Everything on YUMM and MAB is totally free. We will rely purely on donations from kind hearted members of the public and so, if they like what we're trying to do and support our cause, they can feel free to donate anything they like.

Sorry for the long ramble but we believe giving detail is always best, as it means you are fully in the picture and helps us narrow down potential applicants.
