PROJECT: Cake Video – Motion Design Edit Test
Objective
Create a short, high-end vertical video using 5 provided clips. The goal is to replicate a refined, editorial motion style inspired by the reference shared (carousel-style vertical movement with clean composition and strong art direction).

You will also be provided with a sample video I edited. This reflects the direction we are moving towards—use it to understand pacing, tone, and overall style expectations.
Format
* Aspect ratio: 9:16
* Resolution: 1080 x 1920
* Duration: 10–20 seconds
* Platform: Instagram Reels
Footage
* Use ONLY the 5 clips provided
* Trim and select the best moments from each
* Focus on texture, detail, and movement (no unnecessary frames)
Editing Style
1. Layout
* Do NOT use full-screen clips
* Create a framed composition using background color (from brand palette provided)
* Clips should appear as “cards” with spacing around them
* Rounded corners are preferred
2. Motion
* Stack clips vertically and animate them using a smooth upward movement (carousel/scroll effect)
* Clips should move as a group, not individually
* Each movement should feel intentional and smooth (use easing, avoid linear motion)
3. Internal Movement
* Each clip should have subtle motion (slight zoom or pan)
* Avoid static frames
4. Transitions
* No generic transitions
* Movement itself should act as the transition
* Optional: very subtle motion blur during movement
5. Pacing
* Keep clips short and rhythmic
* Edit should feel light, controlled, and intentional
* Avoid dragging shots
Color & Look
* Match tones to the brand palette (provided)
* Slightly warm, soft contrast, clean highlights
* Avoid heavy filters or overly stylized looks
Sound Design (Optional but preferred)
* Subtle “whoosh” or movement sounds to enhance transitions
* Keep very minimal and refined
