Position Overview
We are online Social Enterprise arm of the London-based charity, Chinese Community Centre. Its aim is to use entrepreneurial ideas to develop our online community website and generate revenues for our charity.
This is a great opportunity for a pro-active self-starter to take the platform that has been built to build out the site as well as shape their own role within the site. The website has been developed to be a niche content site for Chinese food – real Chinese food that Chinese people eat but also has aims to be a Community portal for those with an interest in Chinese culture and people.
This is a permanent part-time role with opportunity to develop into a full-time role as the applicant has many opportunities to develop the site and generate revenue. You will be supported by many professionals who work for the charity as well as the Management Committee, giving you mentorship and professional advice.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to take an idea and put their stamp on it with their own creative and entrepreneurial spirit, whilst benefiting social change via our charity.
We believe the right attitude is more essential than experience and would welcome applications from recent graduates.
Essential Job Functions
• Management of Web content, including writing articles and upload
• Management of Web administration of site, responding to queries, moderating comments
• Create content on Chinese culture & food
• Interest in Chinese culture, food
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-starter, pro-active
• Sales & Marketing skills to develop sponsors, markets and advertising campaigns
• Enthusiastic, ideas person with entrepreneurial vision
Non-essential Job Functions
• Bookkeeping, accounts tracking skills
• Knowledge of websites would be preferred but not mandatory
Requirements
• Microsoft Office package
• Excellent written & spoken English
Other Skills/Abilities
• Ability to speak Cantonese/Mandarin would be a bonus
