Smart phone applications which displays information from a mysql database

Hello.

I have a website which has a list of profiles stored in a mysql database. I am interested in developing a Smart Phone and iPhone application which would allow a user to search and view profiles (from this website database) via the smartphone and send a message to a profile associated with one of the email addresses in the database.

Simply, I am interested in having a smart phone application which works together with an already existing website.

I would like to know approximately how long this would take a developer to carry out. Once I have an idea of the work involved I can submit a more detailed proposal which can be priced more accurately.
