First of all i know the cost as i have had this done several times as this is not a big job, its a easy and simple job for a solid works or cad designer so will be asking for fixed price quotes. This is not being used professionally, only for study purpose and have got a design done in past so know the approx. price.
please read through the information below carefully to see what is required exactly:
Introduction
Domestic drink cans for storage prior to recycling can consume a large amount of space
and are awkward to handle, particularly in confined places such as cafes and public
houses. To reduce their bulk, a wall mounted manually operated can crusher is
required which will not only flatten the cans, but also keep their size down to an
acceptable uniform minimum.
Design requirements
The can crusher will be hand operated and handle one can at a time and be capable of
crushing the average range of can sizes. You are looking for a mechanism which will
give you either a large mechanical advantage and/or a large impact load. If possible
the crushed can will automatically discharge into a bin or sack without further handling.
It will be assumed that sorting into aluminium or steel types will take place at a central
depot. The final product will be made in very large batches
Drawings:
Single part drawings - CAD or solid works
These are formal scaled orthographic manufacturing drawings giving all the dimensions,
including size tolerancing. Notes are required regarding manufacture, material, surface
textures and finish and any other notes and symbols which make up a drawing to
BS8888 see BS308. Each single part must have a title and a drawing number and be
treated as a separate entity. Single parts however may be grouped on a single sheet
as a combined drawing. If space permits, single parts and assembly can appear on the
same sheet provided they are all suitably separated, numbered and titled. The single
part drawing numbers will be DT2.6/1, DT2.6/2 etc.
Assembly drawing - CAD / solid works
This is a formal scaled orthographic manufacturing drawing which itemises all single
parts and sub assemblies appearing on the assembly and includes an itemised parts
list. Sub assemblies, if necessary, will be the subject of further drawings. Ballooned
leader lines should be used to flag the various items. The assembly drawing will have
the number DT2.6 and any sub assemblies, DT2.6A, DT2.6B, etc.
All drawing sheets must have a standard border and title block.
Sketches - you should be able to provide sketches for all your preliminary design work including your design alternatives and also sketches of your final design choice with reasons for
selection and rejection.
CAN CRUSHER MATERIAL SELECTION - IT IS UP TO YOU, FOR EXAMPLE ALUMINIUM, STEEL
DIMENSION - YOU CAN DECIDE SUITABLE DIMENSIONS.
you should be able to Collect and list important design factors. Make simple line sketches of various possible design alternatives, Draw free-body diagrams (FBD's) and determine the load paths of your chosen
design, indicating all forces and couples involved.
