Set up Google Analytics tracking code on my wordpress site

I have a wordpress website that I have tried to set up the Google analytics code and google apps meta tag in and have been unsuccessful and am getting increasingly frustrated!

This may be an issue with the theme I am using, but I need a Wordpress expert who has set up Google analytics before to sort this out. If you know what you are doing it should take less than an hour.

Payment will be made when google apps have confirmed that the site is verified.
