Search engine optimisation and website desgn

Website needs upgraded and search engine optimized. This is or a friend of mine who is not very web savvy, however he does have a very good product that at the moment is not getting the business it deserves. He has a motorbike hire business in the Scottish Highlands but his website is amateurish and it isn't being recognised by search engines. So basically he needs his website overhauled and the coding changed so it appears on Google etc.
