Reformatting a word document

A friend of mine, many years ago, wrote a novel with a typewriter on paper. Ha! Those were the days. It was never published.

Recently he's had it scanned in and turned into a word document, which he's been revising on his laptop. As might be expected, the formatting is all over the place.

So the job is to reformat the whole document so that is it consistent and to his liking:

Justified
Single spacing between dialogue
Single spacing between paras
Consistent indents
Page break before new chapter
Consistent chapter heading style

In other words it needs to look good and be consistent enough to

a. take more revision without loosing formatting
b. print off and sent to an agent

Be warned: I had a bash at this, but found it incredibly time consuming and awkward. But then I'm not much good with word anyway. But I don't think it's something that can be done with ctrl-A and a few global changes.

The novel is just under 108,000 words, and I'd like three copies of the end product: .doc, .docx and .rtf (Why? Well I only have word 2000 and he's got an expiring copy of whatever Word is shipped with Windows 7. Nor is he connected to the web. So I'm covering all possible bases with one hit)
