We are looking into designing a free educational tool aimed at helping students understand the electronic/electrical engineering basics. It should be based on C++ QT
The application will be PC-based and will include a theory section explaining the theory of course. It should also have a Multiple Choice Question section. We do have a set of questions and answers and also the theory part, so there is no need to design the questions and answers.
For instance, there are 20 questions. 5 are based on Voltages, 5 on Current, 5 on Ohm's Law and 5 on Kirchoff's Law. After attempting all the questions, a report will be generated stating how many errors were made and also the software should be clever enough to advise the user their weaknesses. Example: out of the 20 questions, the user made 1 error in the voltage questions, 2 errors in the current questions, 3 errors in the Ohm's law section and 4 errors in the Kirchoff's law section. So the application should be able to advise the user to revise Ohm's law and Kirchoff's law because they made more than 50% error in these sections and need to refer to the notes. Please note the application should not reveal the correct answer.
If the initial software is successful, this application will be extended to cover further areas of study. The end product will be shared freely among people interested in learning engineering and is part of a non-profit engineering project to encourage young people to self educate when resources are scarce.
