Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We have recently purchased Primus-A-I estimating system and would like to rebuild our rates buildups (current ones are in excel in a format that can not be imported in).
We are looking for a QS / Estimator / Construction student to either share already build rates library or prepare a fresh one for us. Due to workload we can not set enough time aside to prepare it internally.
The rates buildup, labour requirements in particular, must be based on SPONS or other well known price book.
Ideally price book would be prepared in Primus-A-P, which is a free 30-day trial from accasoftware.com, however there may be a steep learning curve for someone not familiar with this type of software, in such case we are happy to have it in Excel format, ready to be imported to def format by ACCA.
We would provide suitable template in case preparation new database, existing build ups would need to be assessed for suitability to transfer. As said previously we found our buildups requiring so much work to be transferred, that it defies the point.
We envisage the price book to include following information:
- full resource library
- type of resource
- resource name
- source
- unit
- cost
- default wastage
- rates buildup
- work section in accordance with SMM7
- detailed work description
- unit
- quantity = 1
- resources required and quantity
We may agree some additional information required when discussing project in detail.
Should the price book be prepared in Excel we will only require primary rates buildup, i.e. half brick wall in stretcher bond, not composite rates, i.e. brick and block cavity wall.
Preparation in Primus may involve building up composites as well, they can not be imported in.
We are probably looking at 750 - 1250 work rates, for new preparation we will provide a SPONS price book with rates highlighted.
I think it'd be best to quote per build up cost so overall cost will be easy to manage.
Please let me know if you require any further clarification.
