Due to non-completion by previous contractor this is back on PPH, site skeleton is done in osCommerce live at the moment. If you want to develop it in osCommerce then some work is done, otherwise you can do it in whatever setup you want
***
The skeleton of the site and forms are already done out in HTML, you will need to code the backend (or use osCommerce or similar system) and connect it up, present it in a test environment on our server and do changes, tweaks, and when done, put site live.
-----------
Site in question sells custom ID cards. Customers enter their details into a form and either post in or upload their photo and signature for the cards. Payment is made by cash or cheque.
Depending on their choice of payment method and whether they post in/upload photos, they are presented with different receipt forms at the end of the process. Customer receives three personalised emails in purchasing/production process.
We also need a very simple order tracking / order processing system so we can check cards as received, printed etc.
The site is live at present but we want to completely change design, order forms, domain name and product range.
There are highly detailed instructions provided in a word doc, and PNG screenshots and diagrams of where fields and forms are to go.
========================
There are six main parts to this:
========================
1. Setting up MySQL database as per our database design instructions. You will need to review our design and see if it’s efficient and has no redundant elements. Any changes you wish to make, please suggest them.
2. Connect already laid out HTML forms to database. Form field labels need to be changed as per database design spec. Some jQuery here.
3. Code/integrate previous code for photo upload & crop, PHP ttfimagetext generation of signatures.
If previous code is unsuitable/ too old, find new modules to integrate.
4. Code order processing functions, emailing out to customers automatically using PHPMailer.
5. Basic CMS functions to existing HTML (to pull pricing, descriptions etc from db)
6. Test and revise, put site live when approved and complete.
What will supplied to you :
1. Very detailed instructions in word doc.
Text of all template emails and wording provided to drop in.
2. Site and Forms in HTML all laid out with dummy text and images.
3. Annotated screengrabs of where database fields are to be written and connection.
4. Layout of database on excel for MySQL table creation.
5. Site hosted on php server (dedicated or shared).
Revision and communication with us can be by MSN/skype or email.
The code has to be clean, fully commented and kludge-free if possible. Current site code is really messy, hard to follow. Any pieces of code from the current site if integrated must be cleaned up and commented.
There are several other sites to be integrated in future, as well as credit card integration, so there’s a good amount of work available for the right person.
