We’re a small UK based employment agency. Currently we use MsWorks 4.5 to generate our contracts from a database (MsWorks database merging to MsWorks document). MsWorks is now obsolete (it doesn’t work in Windows 7) so we’re looking to do the same thing in another way. I think we need to use OpenOffice (I don’t like Microsoft and I want to save money) but we need some sort of front end operating in OpenOffice which will do the following:

We need to hold a table of bookings (information such as venue, employee, date etcetera)
The table needs to be searchable by more than one criterion (i.e. please return all instances when this employee worked at this venue)
We need to be able to add data to each record as required (such as “contract agreed”, “paid” etcetera)
The bookings need to be cloneable (i.e. copy booking details to generate a similar booking)
The contract template needs to be user editable, and we need to be able to choose from a number of templates
We need to generate one contract at a time, by selecting an individual record.

It would also be of benefit if we could have a table of employees (name, address, email etc), a table of employers (same details) and a table of venues, from which we can import the data for the bookings table (this would avoid typing information more than once). However if this is difficult to do we can work without this functionality.

I would be happy to supply screenshots of our present setup to anyone interested in tendering.
