Design details: We need one 5,000 word magazine article (in MS Word) to be laid out as a pdf and an Amazon Kindle ebook. We also need the templates for this so we can lay subsequent articles out ourselves. Both designs should be as similar as possible, but the functionality can be different. We will provide content and logo. Design should be clean and readable and the covers should stand out as thumbnail images. Templates should include room and specs for photos, charts, diagrams, etc. on the inside. No photos on covers. We are a longform journalism site and the design should reflect the content, which includes serious international issues. The templates should be accompanied by step-by-step instructions. We have Adobe Acrobat Pro, so the pdf should use this software.
