Need tutoring/assistance in developing Php web application - 'When You Were Born'

I am a student set with the task of creating my first PHP web application. I know exactly what I want and have the pages designed I just need some help coding. A few face to face sessions or Skype sessions would be ideal. Application allows users to select their date of birth and then results are chosen (facts that happened in that year) from a database. This shows the user what happened in the year they were born e.g who had the number 1 single that year.
