Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 5 months
Num. of words: 36000
Topic: Stockbrokers elite group
Tone: Witty/Sharp
Extensive research needed: yes
Extra notes: am looking for a ghostwriter for the following project:
A short story, starting with a simple explanation of the old days(80's) investing trends (bonds or fixed income, equity, option trading, the OTC market, before the NASDQ) and life as we knew it with inmense monetary rewards, parties, women, travels, fast cars, power and recognition and everything a man could have dreamed off ."Market tumbles in October 1987". The fast recovery, a litttle insider trading stories, wrong doings, churning and burning accounts and still making lots of money for the client and charging eccesive ammounts of commisions for us .
During those year deregulation hit us bad, banks started selling our same instruments (Glass Segall act).1990's the era of change, lower yields in investments, angry clients and more..Us brokers were not "to big to fail". And finally the advice given to clients on my behalve before and during the real estate bubble, dealing with what they had left and doing it because of our past performance only expected the few stockbrokers in Puerto Rico (75 when I started, over 4000, following us as role models, back in 2009).Facing early retiremenet at 56 years of age. And a happy ending with great relations with leaders of our Island, the recognition fact never disappeared, only our white hair and people asking for free advice. And the reluctancy of never speaking about the financial markets (unless we are alone in our retirement water holes). Will also include some of the over regulated and ridiculous FINRA's(new NASD) rules, compliance, and the ruthless securities recruting of new brokers in brokerage firms, just to fire them and let the top producers keep the green grass they brought in before their expected dismissals after three months in the office, working as "independent contractors" and not even getting a good training.A little about this days economy and uncertanty for the next years.
