Need a high quality promotional slide designed for homepage. Illustration or Graphics

I have setup a website which is a map of my hometown Guernsey (Channel Islands) www.map.gg

The website is designed to help tourists as well as locals find businesses quickly and easily on the island. I've designed it to replace the traditional paper tourist map and frustrating 'yellow pages' in phonebooks. The website is compatible on iPhone and iPad as well. Each business has their own profile with basic information.

Hopefully this gives a detailed enough overview of what the website is about. If you check out our homepage: www.map.gg you will see that the map is becoming overloaded with content. I would like to replace this with a giant promotional banner image.

Obviously with it being the homepage it is important that this banner is of the highest quality. I am very open to ideas, I had wondered about a carton illustration on one side showing a tourist holding a map and a dreaming speech bubble with a phone showing our website. On the other side a person using a phonebook and a speech bubble wishing their was an online website.

They are very wacky ideas and may be to clumsy or complicated. I'm very open to your suggestions and ideas. We could go with something really simple.
