An untold story

The most important constituent, without which life on earth can’t exist, is on the verge of loosing its existence…….Water! The integral component of life needs a little hand from us to be the same as it use to be when it was less polluted.
As mankind is getting its hands over technology and establishing industrial units day by day, in the course they are ruining the most precious gift of nature, Water reservoirs! With an increase in industrial units the ratio of untreated waste water also increased and water reservoirs become more polluted which compromised the eco system.
So is the story of Kotri Industrial zone nesting over hundred industrial units, situated just next to the KB feeder supplying fresh water to its adjacent areas and Karachi.
For decades KB feeder was taking untreated industrial discharge until the govt of Sindh took an initiative and established first ever effluent treatment plant at Kotri.
It took more than four years to establish such a marvel capable of treating 2 MGD of effluent pouring in from more than 100 industrial units based in the vicinity. Though even after its completion authorities had to face different challenges.
In the mid of 2017 Kotri had its much awaited effluent treatment plant operational.
No story is success story until people shaping the story make untiring efforts to create a master piece.
GEMS played the same pivotal role in making this story a real successful one.
