MALE - AMERICAN

I need to record a dubbing / VO for a short film.

This is the script:

"Five years ago, after the crash, I thought it was just… fate. A terrible coincidence. But the day after, something changed. My life got better. Like the accident had set something in motion."

"Then it happened again. The next year. Same day. Same crash. But you don’t remember, do you?"

(Beat.)

"I’ve tried to break the pattern. Left the country. Changed my routine. But no matter what, I end up here."

"With you."

(Pause, the wind howls.)

"I don’t think, Zain. I know."

"I need this accident. If it doesn’t happen, I don’t know what will."

(Softer, almost pleading.)

"Please. Just… be there."

(A low chuckle, almost to himself.)

"You always say that."

****** NEXT DAY ******
The man stands beside the wreckage, staring directly at her.
MAN (calm, eerie)
"You shouldn’t be here, Zain."

MAN (soft, knowing)
"You’ve been here for five years."

MAN (interrupting, voice darkening)
"Did you?"

MAN
"Your body is in a hospital bed, Zain. But your mind? It’s stuck here. Between life and death."


MAN (softly)
"Not yet."


The man kneels beside her.
He whispers the final choice.
MAN
"Wake up… or stay here with me."
