Research paper on software / webcams to turn podcast visual

We are looking to turn our podcast visual. We need a simple research paper on (2) cameras to do this. Details of software needed to record the podcast (long podcasts so expect to need to record direct to macbook rather than SD card). Details of equipment needed and links to places to purchase (ideally in the UK). Budget is limited for the equipment so want good value but cost effective. Also seen podcasts that the camera flicks (automatically) to whoever is talking. Would like to understand if this is camera or software that does this. We presently use GarageBand to record podcasts with (4microphones max). Thanks Martin
