Description
Experience Level: Expert
The Project: We are seeking a dynamic and creative Music Specialist/Producer to join the artistic team for our upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz: OzCorp Edition. This vision blends the classic heart of the musical with a sharp critique of corporate control and digital perfection—a world where drab, sepia-toned Kansas contrasts with the hyper-saturated lies of OzCorp.
The Vision & Deliverables: We require exciting, high-quality music tracks for promotional videos and performer rehearsals only; these tracks will NOT be used in the full production score. The role involves maximum rearrangement of three (3) existing songs and the creation of three (3) original sound collages/soundscapes.
Key Deliverables Include:
Song Arrangement 1: "The Merry Old Land of Oz" Remix: Create a fresh arrangement featuring a high-energy hip-hop/diversity dance break, suitable for teaching youth choreography. The tone should be ironically corporate and overly cheerful.
Sound Collage 1: "The Cyclone" Soundscape: Produce an intense, distorted soundscape for the storm sequence that layers musical motifs and digital static with current COVID commentary and climate change news flashes.
Two (2) Additional Song Arrangements/Two (2) Additional Sound Collages: To be determined based on the producer's expertise and promotional needs (e.g., an industrial/Steampunk "Winkie Chant" sound collage, or a trap/EDM remix of "Follow the Yellow Brick Road").
The Ideal Candidate:
Proficient in music production software (DAWs).
Proven ability to fuse orchestral/classic musical theatre styles with contemporary genres (Hip-Hop, EDM, Industrial, Trap).
Experience creating soundscapes and remixing tracks for teaching and promotional use.
Help us turn the Yellow Brick Road into a thrilling, rebellious path.
