Special occasionwear for modern Asian women in the UK

We are starting with an assumption that the needs of modern Asian women in the UK for special occasionwear are not being met.

We could be wrong!

So we need you to help us to find out what (approx150) modern Asian women think about the clothing on offer to them and where there might be gaps in provision.

By 'modern' Asian women we mean women between the ages of 20 and 45 who are probably second or third generation UK residents with parents or grandparents from the Indian sub-continent.

By 'special occasion wear' we mean clothing for important family or social occasions in the private and public spheres and - and this is important - in both 'eastern' and western' events contexts - eg an Asian guest a a western wedding, charity ball, or party, as well as more traditional Asian family events..

We’d be happy to hear of any ideas you have regarding the collection of this information, we were thinking along the lines of one to one interviews with a short list of questions which we can come up with together prior to the interviews taking place.

Once the interviews have been completed we’d like the information collated in to a report.
