Simple Genetic Algorithim

I am a (rather older) part time PhD student in the UK working towards the write up stage of a dissertation on adaptability and survival in populations of small and medium enterprises.

My supervisor and I have played with a very simple Matlab simulation that seems to prove the point we wish to make and I have now been asked to go off and run a more complete genetic algorithm based on more realistic starting conditions.

I do not have access to Matlab or Simul8 and, frankly, just want to get the simulation run rather than investing in the intricacies of the software. It will end up as no more than 2 paragraphs in the dissertation.

Would someone like to help me?
