Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am in need of a short term research assistant to aid me in my research into my investigation into the area of exactly what is an Interior Architect? And Interior Designer? And Interior Decorator? - specifically delving into:
1.
a) Industry definitions.
b) Any governing regulations that define who can define themselves by each term AND pratice as such.
c) Bodies in the Architecture/Interiors fields who agree on these definitions and/or oppose... and why?
2.
(a) Public definitions, understandings and perceptions.
(b) Influence of the media on the public's understanding of the "interior" industry, e.g. reality tv, diy etc (that are popping up everywhere now!).
(c) Is there an general consensus that people can "diy" instead of hiring a professional? What are the problems with this?
3.
(a) How can we move towards a universal definition, with a set of accreditation guidelines?
(b) How can we clear the confusion of the general public between the terms and corresponding job descriptions?
(c) What measures are currently in place, or proposed, to achieve 3 a & b?
I am looking for a large selection of material to explore the above ideas/questions through journals, peer-reviewed magazines and published works (including but not limited to Architectural/Interior specific works).
However, I am also interested in newspaper and magazine articles, any general studies that have a valid/quality input to the research.
Basically I need for you to find me as much QUALITY material you can, to aid in my quest to create an understanding of the above, as perceptions are today.
There are different views and regulations in different countries, information from all a selection over the continents would be good, but Australia is my main concentration with USA/Canada and Europe.
This will be a very interesting experience for you, so if you have some spare time on your hands, are a SERIOUS bidder and qualified researcher (preferably someone with academic experience) I would be very grateful to work with you!
It will be of great assistance if you have access to library databases, journals etc. Google, wikipedia etc won't cut it.
You will need to supply to me links to, or copies/files of the material you locate. I'm not looking for your opinion - I need for you to locate issues, ideas, facts, opinions already published/out there - that I can then use to analyse.
I am hoping for you to have the majority of research in by Thurs 19th April, latest Sat 21st April.
