Research in Early Years Education and Inclusion

Qualitative research project, critically evaluating issues of race and education with particular focus on Black pupils and inclusion in early years settings in the United kingdom.

Some points to examine:
What are the issues that influence inclusion? For this project issues of language, cultural identity, teacher confidence and perception of pupil ability should be addressed.

How do settings that have gained outstanding Ofsted reports in early years manage to include all pupils?

What impact do new government initiatives ie the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and Every Child Matters agenda have on teaching and learning?
