Historical research

I am creating a visitor experience for American tourists coming to central London, and am specifically interested in showing them evidence of the historical and cultural links between the US and the UK. I have the past fairly well covered up until WW2, but after that is where I need the research. I\'m looking for the quirky, the unusual - the sort of detail that stays in the mind. It needs to be something we can go and look at - a building, a memorial, a theatre, something tangible. A historical fact with no physical reference doesn\'t work. My audience is young, so things like recent film locations are popular. I already have the movie star hand prints in Leicester sq and the Roosevelt/Churchill sculpture in Bond street covered. I need five centrally based things to look at (1000 words?). I would like them by June 11th 2010.
