Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: A new independent school in Brooklyn, NY.
Industry: Education
Geographical areas: Brooklyn, New York
Data to include: We are looking to collect and organize peer-reviewed research on several topics in education, including:
1) Small school size
2) Project-based learning
3) Maker education
4) Diversity
5) Micro-schools
6) Middle school impact on future outcomes (HS, college, or career)
7) Socio-emotional supports
For this proposal, let's establish milestones. We will start with one topic. If the work is strong, we will move on to the other projects. After each completed topic, I will send a payment.
Extra notes: That is, how do these interventions impact student achievement? What does the data say?
There may be different studies that develop different conclusions. That's fine. We are not looking for "positive" research that supports a pre-determined conclusions. We are looking for meaningful research conclusions. Meta-analysis research studies may be especially valuable.
As educators, we have a strong background in educational research, and we are looking for well-established data from high-value sources.
Stage I:
Collect a lot of data and interpretive conclusions from research published in academic journals.
Stage II:
Identify the 10 most important and most salient and strongest supported conclusions
Stage III:
Draft 2 paragraphs that succinctly but effectively summarizes the state-of-the-field research.
