Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
We are doing a study into the expected shortage of workers in Japan in the run up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and we want to learn from the experiences of the London 2012 Olympics. We anticipate that this will feed into policy in Japan in the run up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Can you set appointments for a 1-hour interview with companies in London? We want to talk to people with direct hands-on experience of the company's experiences during the Olympics. The focus is on *human resources* and these are some of the topics we'd like to explore:
1. How did the London 2012 Olympics affect the operations of your company?
2. How did you manage recruiting and training staff in the lead up to the Olympics?
3. What, if any, were the legacy of the Olympics that were both externally visible or internal to the company?
Who will it appeal to?
I expect that this assignment will appeal to telemarketers, appointment setters, PR professionals with contacts and HR professionals with contacts in the industry.
Which companies to contact:
Here are some of the companies we'd like to speak to (more to come). The final list we'll give you will be different and we will probably divide the list between two or more providers. If you happen to have any contacts in these companies, great. Let me know so that I can divide up those companies for you.
- Restaurant:
- Hotel: Holiday Inn
- Travel: British Airways, Thomas Cook, Eurostar, Heathrow Airport
- Recruitment: Adecco,
- Construction:
- Other: UPS, Airwave, Ticketmaster, Metropolitan Police, Transport for London
The assignment in the first instance will be for 3 or 4 companies per provider. The total companies to contact will be around 15-20 in total (so around half of this or more per provider).
The Task:
I don't have a call list so part of the task will be to search out the right person who will be able to help us with our study and make contact. Researching the right person is important. You can sometimes find the name of the person we'll need by searching through industry articles on the Olympics. The focus of the study is human resources so I expect HR and the Press Office may be right people to talk to.
Fees:
I've indicated £15/hr (with a cap per company) here but I'm also open to a fixed price per success for getting us an appointment with the right people or a mixture of hourly rates + success fee. Please submit your bids.
When:
The period for the interview is 26 - 30 March. So we want the appointments set by 15 March (1.5 week before) at the latest. I would like to discuss make the decision on who to go with on 4th or 5th March so that we can get going.
