Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I need someone to generate leads from small to medium sized UK charities. I am launching a service which works with such charities to help generate funding through the sale of Eco Sustainable products, such as Wooden Chopping Boards, Coconut Bowls, Linen Food bags (for bread, potatoes and onions etc) plus more. Every item is branded with the Charities logo.
The service costs them NOTHING, but they must be prepared to promote the goods to their Social Media followers and through Newsletters. They are promoting goods they have for sale doe their benefit. There is no promotion of our business. They (the charity) will receive up to 50% of the profits on every sale.
We source the products and fund all of the costs, plus take care of distribution to the purchaser. In addition, we will promote the products outside of their own followers. If they have their own online store, then they would add the branded products to their store (using a link to our Amazon Fulfilment service FBA or our Shopify store) and if they have physical stores they could offer the products by taking a quantity from us at cost and charging whatever price they want.
So we are looking for someone to generate the charities that would be interested in such a service.
Ideally I am looking for someone to assist with a personalized outreach to get the conversation started.
To clarify a bit further, the charities:
1. Have to be small to medium sized - or at least not so big that they have their own well-oiled fund-raising department. We are looking for charities who would be greatly for any new fund-raising opportunity.
2. They MUST be UK based, not international.
3. They do not really need to be align well with eco-conscious branding. In this day and age no-one is going to object to be seen as promoting eco conscious thinking, even if they may not be following such ideals currently.
4. We need to be sympathetic to the fact that whilst there is no financial cost to the charity, there is potentially a reputational cost, so we must make sure to address any concerns there. This is a new project, so we need to build trust in ourselves as well as the proposal.
5. We need to prioritize charities that actively engage their audiences online. They need to have sufficient engaged followers/supporters to justify our involvement. Whilst I don't particularly want to set concrete limits, I would envisage that they are going to have a database of at least 20,000 plus the same numbers following through multiple social media platforms (not collectively, but per platform).
However, the 20,000 followers/subscribers per platform is very much a minimum and more likely applicable as we move forward. If we budget at a "conversion" rate of 1%, then to get started we need to be looking at those with higher followers.
Although there will be some duplication between platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, and Snapchat) we probably need to be looking at a combined number of 100,000. Allowing for duplication, that could take us down to 75,000 which with a 1% conversion rate, gives us the opportunity of 750 "sales" per post.
Timescales will be driven by having everything in place to maximise the success of such a lead generation campaign. I think we need to have a website established explaining what we do for charities, as well as being ready to act as an online store for multi charities. I am working on that currently.
Ultimately it is not a numbers game. Ten "onboarded charities" is worth more than 500 loose leads. Indeed, that is the first target, because I cannot order stock until I have at least five charities onboard (but ten is better), as I need their branding to be applied at point of manufacture.
I am not yet sure how many products we will start with, but over time we have identified 18 which we will list, so that gives us great opportunity for longevity. We will probably launch with perhaps 8 - 10 products likely to include:
Large Wooden Chopping board
Set of Three Bamboo Chopping boards
Set of 2 Coconut Bowls
Set of 4 Coconut Bowls
Set of 6 Coconut Bowls
Linen Garlic & Ginger Bags
Linen Bread Bags
Linen Onion Bags
Linen Onion Bags
Linen Shopping/Carry Bags
Wooden Dish Brush
Natural Bristle Brush Head Replacement
I can only launch with 5 confirmed charity partners, so we need an assessment of the costs of getting those fully onboarded.
Thereafter it will definitely be an ongoing project. I think I mentioned before that I would like to be adding five new charity partners every 3 months.
I look forward to hearing from your further.
