Playtime is a free, full-colour A4 magazine aimed at families with children 0-11 years in central Sussex. The magazine is published every two months and appeals to the affluent families in central Sussex due to its quality editorial and extensive events guide. Playtime is distributed free through pre-schools, nurseries, primary schools, shopping and leisure centres.

ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT
We are looking for an enthusiastic sales person with experience in telephone sales, ideally within the media industry, who will be responsible for contacting and selling advertising space in Playtime by telephone to new and existing customers across a range of businesses.
You will be:
• Generating new business using local directories to identify leads
• Closing quickly and effectively over the telephone
• Maintaining a record of sales calls and responses and providing these to the publisher on a regular basis
• Following up leads in a timely manner and chasing written confirmation of sales
• Understanding the client’s needs and matching them with a suitable advertisement package
You will have:
• Proven track record in sales
• Previous experience in telesales, advertising sales would be an advantage
• Target driven and used to working to tight deadlines
• Good customer services skills, literacy and numeracy
• Good IT and administrative skills
• Articulate with a pleasant telephone manner
• Persuasive but not aggressive
• Knowledge of central Sussex
You will be working on a self-employed basis, and paid a commission of 20% of the final sales price. Advertising rates range from £50 to £750 per edition. You will be working at least 15 hours per week but can set your own times within overall deadlines.
