I am looking for an experienced PR and marketing person to help me launch, create brand awareness and generate sales via a variety of wholesale distribution outlets for a new series of educational, fun, entertaining and engaging children’s books that my company has self-published. The series consist of 10 books that follow the adventures of a group of friends and we are now in a position to release the first 3.
In terms of PR, there is currently nothing like this on the market. The books are aimed at children aged 5-8, with each one designed to teach them a key lesson. From setting goals and saving, to giving, spending wisely and working, these great stories help to teach about real life in a way that is so much fun, the children will not know they are learning. Considering the current economic climate, and the emphasis on the need to teach children about money, saving, spending wisely etc from a young age, I think there might be quite a bit of mileage in this.
Ideally, I would prefer someone with a background in the PR and marketing of children’s books, who has great contacts with book buyers and who would be interested in helping to develop this brand on a long-term basis. I would like someone who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about the use of children’s books as an educational tool. I would also like someone who does this on a full-time basis, has the time to dedicate to this project and effectively lives, breathes and eats PR, Marketing and Sales.
Please note that I am looking to deal with just one provider, so I don’t want bids from providers that can only cover one aspect (e.g., just the writing of press releases). I need a PR person and marketer. Someone who will get us into the press, as well as into meetings with buyers.
When you contact me, it would help the process if you provided me with information on your experience, the types of campaigns you’ve worked on before, examples of previous work and an idea of what you can do with our products, and where you can take us.
