We have a requirement for an experienced B2C sales person/market trader working on a commission plus reasonable expenses basis to single-handedly set-up and run a market stall in Bedford town centre on Wed 3 Dec and Sat 20 Dec selling the following product which can be seen at www.parkangel.co.uk.
We are running a joint marketing campaign with Bedford Borough Council to launch the service in the Bedford area. Stall will be supported by leaflet distribution by town centre staff (Bedford Bluecaps) and possibly local radio on the day. Stall size is 10 foot by 10 foot. Signage (attached image), suitable table (image attached) and gazebo will be made available. You will need to provide your own chair and refreshments.
Set-up and vehicles clear of the area by 0800 on the day with vehicle access restored by 1600. Hours are therefore likely to be 0630 to 1730ish plus collection and return.
You will need access to suitable sized transport to collect the gazebo from the local area, erect, disassemble and return to hire shop. You will also need to transport the stand imagery, exhibition boards for that and the stand table. A large estate or small van should be sufficient.
Product is likely to be discounted by 42% at launch, so selling for £10 per vehicle per year down from £17.50. You will have price discretion on the day to a minimum of £2 per vehicle. Commission is 50% per sale for sales between £2 and £8. 100% commission for any amount that exceeds £8. For example, a sale at £7 would generate £3.50 commission. A sale at £10 would generate £6 commission (50% of £8 plus £sale_price minus £8).
You will need to collect the following minimum information for each sale: vehicle registration number(s) and mobile telephone number(s). If the buyer has email, then an email address will also be required. Buyer memberships will be activated once the information you collect has been delivered to us at the end of the day as we will need to input it into our system at this end. You will need access to a good quality scanner if you collect the information on paper so that this can be scanned and emailed to us immediately after the event. Alternatively, you could provide your own laptop and have buyers enter their own information into an excel spreadsheet (we can provide this data input files for you if you choose this route).
You will give each buyer an envelope containing their warning notice (see website) and a letter explaining what happens next - these will be provided for you and ready packaged.
Mileage will be paid at 20p per mile.
You will be working on a self-employed basis and we are a VAT registered business. You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement before further business detail will be provided. A contract will be required.
