We have a project for a community market research expert.
You will be given a comparator community (our client) and 3 “best practice” communities that have each overcome challenges of remote locations, perception shifting and talent/skill attraction.
The project involves finding the following information and putting into a consistent, cohesive and easy-to-follow report format (final deliverable 8-12 page Word document – you will be provided with a template):
1. What are the key challenges that this community faces?
2. How do they position themselves to attract businesses and residents?
3. What was the brand perception prior to the marketing initiative? (was there a problem? If yes, what?)
3. Describe the marketing work they did/are doing - strategy, tactics, timeframe (What was done & how?)
4. Are there any particularly innovative, unusual or noteworthy initiatives (provide a few examples)
5. What was the brand perception after the initiative? (Results)
6. Was the purpose achieved? (as per challenges identified in #1 -- if yes, if no explain)
7. Specifically - did they increase business investment, tourism, attract residents, etc.
8. What were the media attitudes and interest in their marketing initiative? (Media response)
9. What were the community/resident attitudes and interest in the initiative? (Community response)
10. Include photos/charts/graphs as appropriate
Summarize recommendations -- Looking at all 3 case studies are there 3-4 best-practices or key concepts that evolve with respect to promoting and marketing remote, resource-based communities that are shifting their brand positioning?
