Description
Experience Level: Entry
Hello
I need some help.
I am exploring the idea of gaining crowdfunding to help me on a personal level.
I had a care home which was heavily affected by COVID-19, killing over 50% of them in 2020.
As a result, we had to close in June 2023.
Since then, the landlord has held me to account for the commercial lease of £85k per year.
I have found alternative buyers, secured a licence to allow the conversion to a house of multiple occupation (HMO) and asked for a sub-lease. The landlord has said no to everything.
As a result of not being able to pay him, he is pursuing me in court, and I am facing multiple cases which I can not afford. To make matters worse, the leasehold obliges me to pay for the landlord's legal costs, and he is opting for the most expensive lawyers.
I am looking to raise funds to defend my position and settle a commercial liability, which is proving impossible to do on a regular salary, working for the NHS.
I do have assets which I am trying to sell, but the landlord will not wait for this to happen.
I hope to raise some funds to defend my position and cope with the ongoing legal costs.
