Magento store - changes to homepage banner layout (desktop and mobile templates)

Changes required to the banner layout on the homepage of a magento store. Currently have one full width main banner using 'banner slider' extension. Plan is to reduce the width of the main banner and introduce 3 banner pods to the right of the main banner. Ideally using static blocks so its easy to drop in images via the CMS.

Change replicated onto the mobile site template, where the main banner would appear full width (as it does now on mobile) and the 3 new banners displayed below it.
