Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am developing a web app called Club Hunter, which is a directory of nightclubs and bars in particular cities (initially launching in Liverpool, UK).
The target audience is 18-35 year olds that are active on social media and use their mobiles or computer to browse the web.
In terms of the colour scheme, I am looking for contrast. If you see the attached logo (I quickly made this when I needed something for my funding proposal presentation), you'll notice that black is the main colour. That was the first thing I thought of, but I am open to other dark colours as the main one. Reds, blues, greens - I'm open to suggestions.
The logo has to be memorable, as it'll be used extensively in both online and print advertising. Ideally, it would have some sort of icon that could be used on it's own, as well as accompanying text (Club Hunter) if the advert/website element requires it.
A good example of what I mean is the Twitter logo. When people think of Twitter, they think of the blue bird, the think of the short status updates. They have excellent brand recognition, and this is the kind of thing that I want to be able to make full use of when it comes to print and online advertising.
I'm open to ideas, so hit me.
If any clarification is required (e.g. I've missed something vital that logo designers need to know before coming up with concepts), do that whole 'Ask A Question' thing and I'll make sure to add it to this proposal if it's something that everyone could benefit from.
EDIT:
Please note - bidders that include one or two basic logo concepts with their proposal (nothing fancy, can even be a hand-drawn sketch) will be looked upon more favourably. This is to reduce the number of generic proposals (I've had 8 in the past 6 hours) and to give designers the chance to prove that they have read the proposal, understand the product and are genuinely interested in the project. You'll also need to speak impeccable English, as the last guy I tried to use from Mumbai (whose English was fairly good) struggled to understand the concept.
Also, this is not a violent website, so please don't send me concepts with sniper rifle sights (yes, someone has just sent me one with a girl dancing between speakers with a great big rifle sight over the top). Try not to be too literal about the name Club Hunter.
