Logo/brand for jazz function band

My band require a logo that is sophisticated, unique and aesthetically pleasing. It will be used for our website, business cards, posters etc... It would ideally reflect jazz art culture whilst maintaining a professional appearance. The band name is 'The Brighton Top Cats.' Its kind of a play on words. 'Cats' in jazz refers to an experienced jazz player and 'Top Cats' is a reference to a beloved child hood cartoon. We would require both the logo and the band name in the same image with a color scheme in keeping with the website (which is under construction):

Furthermore we require the background of the design to be transparent so we can put it over anything without it interfering with other images (I don't know if this is possible,but let me know!). We would also need two of the same logo but one that we can put over a black background (like the website) and one we can put over white. Maybe something clever with BTC, with band name tied into it and graphics around the outside.

We would require the logo as soon as reasonably possible because we need to produce posters by the start of next week to promote an upcoming gig.

On a final note, if the logo was to include any instruments it should include only guitar, vocals, bass and drums because this would represent our line up better.
