Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are developing a new corporate website for a national law firm. The core of the homepage of the website is an infinite carousel where the images scroll off screen and then reappear back at the other side. At the moment the implementation works at a basic level but needs refinement. The movement appears to judder and the overlays and text that appear on hover are not the right shape.
We are looking for a jQuery specialist to either advise our developer on how to resolve the problems or to recode this peice of functionality so that it is smooth and works properly.
The current problems are:
- The judder effect
- On hover the box that appears doesn't match the dimensions of the image
Key functionality:
- It moves automatically without interaction from the user
- On hover it stops moving and shows a yellow box that should match the dimensions of the image
- Once the users mouse moves off of an image the carousel begins to rotate again
- There are 15 images in total all of varying heights & widths. When one reaches the edge of the screen it moves to the back of the queue and will eventually re-appear on screen.
- The image and the text that overlays it are controlled via our CMS system
Please note that the website is still in a testing phase and other changes are under way. The link provided is there to show the existing problems so that a potential developer can look at it and see the problems we are having.
This is an urgent job and so we would look to appoint a developer as soon as possible.
